IYC president  visited America from the 17th of April to the 4th of May 2008 during which he .  Delivered a paper at the United States Instituite of Peace Talkshop,  had a successful teleconference meeting with major Ijaw elders.  The president was accompanied on the trip by 5 Ijaw Youths including Sherif Molade, Gbaramatu Youth President, Shedrack Ogulagah Youth Association, Ebi Christopher, Perenanagha of the IYC and Alhaji Mohammed Powel of the Niger Delta Volunteer Force and former ADC to Dokubo Asari to understudy  the Martin Luther King Non Violent movement  as a paradigm shift  from the Current violent trend in the Niger Delta.. The President actually did a 10 minutes presentation.
